Required Materials:
- Cloth and Rosin: You can choose Art Craft, Kolstein, or Gustave Bernardel rosin.
- Small Stool or Full Size Adjustable Chair: Feet must be flat on the floor with knees slightly lower than hips. A flat seat (not tilted back) is best. Tilted forward is also good. Use your own chair if it fits above requirements or buy one custom-made from Richard Hoyt. A piano bench can be used with 4/4 cello.
- Rockstop: I prefer Black Hole, or the Rubber Strap if with a 4-leg chair/stool
- Mute: Two String attachment for larger cellos, Single String for smaller cellos
- Music Stand: Manhasset 48CA Concertino (short) is best for cellists
- Metronome: Whittner metronome for youngsters. Tempo app for teens.
- Tuner: Device is good. App is GREAT (adult supervision per your preference).
- Practice Room: Climate steady, safe room to practice and store cello, etc.
- Timer: Can be a stove, watch, phone or actual timer. Clip & magnet are nice.
