Kaysville Chamber Strings Rehearsals are Fridays 4:00-5:30
For String Players Age 9-15 who play Violin, Viola, Cello or String Bass, with approximately 4-10 Years Experience.
KCS Prep Rehearsals are Friday 3:10-3:50 P.M.
String players age 5-12 with 3 years or less experience.

We at Kaysville Chamber Strings are dedicated to fostering excellence and hard work in each of our young musicians. We are convinced that music is one of the best ways to connect with people of all backgrounds, and we do not discriminate based upon race, creed, gender or socioeconomic status.
Kaysville Chamber Strings is a great supplement for homeschooled students who do not have access to public school orchestra, but is also home to many public school students who need a music group to challenge them and enhance their musical studies and enjoyment.
Young musicians gather each week, having practiced their individual parts beforehand, and together with professional musicians, work out dynamics, musical phrasing, ensemble playing, and overall musical development and improvement.
We put on at least four performances during the school year. The music selected for each concert increases gradually in technical skills and rhythmic diversity. The students show increased capacity to read music, interpret dynamics and phrasing, and play as an ensemble by the end of each school year.
Low Tuition
We believe that participation in music should be affordable, no matter your family size or situation. We keep tuition down by asking each member to contribute time filling volunteer roles and make a manageable financial contribution.
Financial contributions are non-refundable. All members of Kaysville Chamber Strings, including music director, parent support and staff, volunteer their time. Financial contributions are used to benefit each individual member, and will only be used for expenses incurred by the Kaysville Chamber Strings or associated Summer Music Camp.
Elizabeth W. Marsh, Music Director
Elizabeth Marsh began her musical studies at the age of two, studying cello with local Utah teachers Shauna Bowman, Richard Hoyt, Carey Cheney and Monica Call. While pursuing a masters degree at the University of Michigan, she studied with Richard Aaron and Amir Eldan. She also studied with Eleonore Schoenfeld and Peter Stumpf at the University of Southern California, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Violoncello Performance.
She has studied conducting with Kenneth Kiesler, Sharon Lavery, and Rotem Weinberg, and has conducted for Northern Utah Youth Ensembles, Vivace Youth Orchestras, and American Heritage Lyceum Orchestras. She has directed music camps for many years, notably the Vivace Family Music Camp bringing together hundreds of orchestral and choral musicians of all ages.
Mrs. Marsh has enjoyed a fulfilling career as a cellist, concertizing with professional and volunteer orchestras and as a chamber and freelance musician. She has won competitions on the national level and soloed with symphonies locally and throughout the United States. Currently she performs with Utah’s newest orchestra, the Bountiful Philharmonia.
Elizabeth has taught hundreds of cellists of all ages over the past three decades, many of whom have attended music schools on scholarship and won jobs in professional orchestras. She also authored and published Scale Trail Challenge and Up to the Bridge for young cellists.
One of her favorite musical experiences is performing with her husband, Gregory, in the Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square. She has served as principal cellist for a number of years, and is grateful for this special opportunity to combine her spiritual conviction with her love of music. Elizabeth and Gregory enjoy homeschooling and teaching music to their eleven young children.
